The Rossi Family Funeral Home, a staple in Canton, Ohio and a supportive place for families in times of need,
was founded by Adam Rossi, Sr. in 1924. Adam, Sr. emigrated from Italy, along with his six brothers, and opened various funeral homes in the area, one of which being the Canton location. From that point on, the business
became well-known in the Italian community. Today, Rossi’s is currently owned and operated by the third
generation, Robert “Bob” Forchione and Adam “Jim” Rossi III. Together, Bob and Jim have exceeded more than
just one generation’s worth of work. For over 40 years, they have successfully managed to grow their family
business year after year. Bob and Jim have aided Italian-American families in the Stark County area in the
most unique way possible - by helping families navigate through some of life’s most difficult challenges.
Fast forward to 2024, the Rossi Family Funeral Home is now celebrating its 100th anniversary. Not only has it
been a productive business for an entire century, but it is also still a family-owned business to this day, as it
continues on through four generations of family members. Although the list of business accomplishments is
endless, what really stands out is Bob and Jim’s innate ability to keep up with traditions in this ever-changing
world. They keep their Italian ties close to heart, each of them teaching their own families to never forget their heritage.
Bob, a Canton native, is married to Teresa; they have three children Angela, Gino, and Rosa Forchione. They
are members of St. Francis of Assisi Parish - St. Anthony Church. Jim, also of Canton, is married to Gigi; they
have two children Carla (Craig) Rossi and Adam (Sarah) Rossi; and four grandchildren Louis, Bruno, Hannah,
and Jack. They are members of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. Bob, Jim, and the Rossi Family
Funeral Home continue to leave a lasting legacy in the Italian-American community for generations to come.
The Italian Festival Dedication Award is presented to a member of the greater Stark County community who has made a positive impact on the Italian community in particular, and the entire community in general. The Award recipient is recognized as an individual who appreciates and espouses the true spirit and goals of the Italian Festival.
